Plug Gages   

When purchasing Go and NoGo plug gages, it is well to remember Go plugs are plus tolerances and NoGo plugs are minus tolerances

Ring gages     

A Go ring has minus tolerances and a NoGo ring has plus tolerances

Tolerance Definitions

Bilateral:

The gage tolerance is applied equally on both sides of the basic size- plus and minus

Unilateral:

The gage tolerance is applied only on one side of the basic gage size- only plus or minus

Low Limit or Min Gages

The smallest size of gage needed to check the job

High Limit or Max Gages

The largest size of gage needed to check the job
