Air gauging guarantees high precision and longtime stability of the measurement.
Environment conditions have nearly no influence on the excellent precision and
repeatability that can be achieved by this method. Non-contact measurement with air avoids
damages of the workpieces. Typical applications are measurements of diameters, center
distances, tapers, eccentricity, matching of shaft to bore a.s.o.
The measured value is converted into an electronic signal which can be processed by any
type of PRETEC measuring instruments. Or indication with dial indicator.
The measuring range of a standard converter is
± .0015" (± 40 µm). Special executions are
available up to ± .003 (± 80 µm).
